Snippity Snip

Before:

Look at that horrible long pony tail. I just couldn't take it anymore so I got up this morning and did this.

AFTER:

Happy Daddy Day!!!!

So, thanks to stealing a few ideas from friends, I was able to get creative and make Jon's Father's day card and bag.

We were able to have a really great day even though Sophie woke up throwing a fit.

I need to give my tribute to my amazing husband. We have gone through a lifetime's worth of ups and downs in the short time we have been together, and yet he has always remained strong and loving with me and his daughter. I am SOOO blessed to have Jon in my life and as the father of my children. He isn't perfect (thank goodness) but he does his absolute BEST to the BEST man he can for all of us.

How cute can she be?!?!?!?

Look at that smile!!!!

Happy Monday!

What a day we had. Jon started the day at 6 am this morning as he headed fishing. He didn't catch any fish though. Boo Hoo :( Later we decided to enjoy sun and the 90 degree weather so we went rollerblading. We bladed to the mall, than walked around, had lunch and than bladed back home. This was a pretty big undertaking seen as we haven't gone rollerblading in approximately 3 years and never pushed a stroller on blades before. But it ended up being a really good time. The best part of the day happened in the late afternoon. Our friends Amy and Joey and their son Jayson came over and than we all walked to the summer fair. I LOVE fairs. We got in for free-----ever BETTER!!! They had a sea lion show, a petting zoo and pig races. SOOOO much fun!

Sophie feeding the goats. She wasn't so sure about these guys.

Go piggy Go!!
This poor guy was so fat he never made it past the start.

One way to do it

Sophie has now learned to climb up on things. This is ok, except for the fact that she doesn't know how to really get off of them. However, today she did create a new way to get off her chair. I thought it was so funny I had to take a picture or two. I should have helped her down, but it was just to darn funny. (and she did finally manage to get down without shedding a single tear.)

Update on Sam

A few months ago I posted about a friend of mine that had been injured in a snowboarding accident, and I just wanted to give a couple of updates. He has now been able to go home. He has some limited mobility of his arms and shoulders. Sam is still going to physical therapy and working on improving his skills and hopefully will one day have the use of his legs again. The following link is to a story about him and his family. http://deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,700232244,00.html It tells of an absolutely awe inspiring service project going on. And it just completely reaffirms to me that there still is goodness in this world and that out of tragedy, goodness can prevail.

Daddy/Daughter time

On Saturday night, we decided to go out to Beef o Bradys for dinner and so Jon could watch the MMA fight on TV. Jon was snuggling with Sophie while we were waiting for our food, and it was just so dang adorable.

Jons new love affair

Well, unfortunately I think I have been replaced in my husbands life. He has started playing the guitar. Which at first I was all for. I love music and guitar is way cool. But now he practices 3-4 hours a night and only speaks to me in guitar lingo. Does anyone else think this is a problem?

Sophie absolutely loves when he plays though. She will go stand by him and than bounce up and down like she's dancing along. Truthfully, I am extremely proud of him for learning this new skill and very grateful to have live music in my home. I'll just have to learn how to play now so we can play together.

AA Aleady.... J/K!

We think we might have to put our daughter in a rehab. What do you think?
Just Kidding!!! She was holding daddy's empty ROOTBEER bottle. We thought it was slightly sick but really funny!!! :)
